As well as music for dancing, we’re also proud to offer a full array of piping services, provided by our very own Great Highland Bagpiper, Jordan Aikin.
After cutting his teeth on the competition scene, Jordan developed a keen interest in the folk music of Scotland and Ireland. As a result, he has a comprehensive command of piping styles, ranging from the discipline of the military tradition, to the fieriness of playing tunes in a traditional music session. Based on this experience, Jordan has quickly established himself as a talented and renowned composer and interpreter of music for the Great Highland Bagpipe. To date, some of his performance highlights include playing alongside Andre Rieu; The Chieftains; piping for the Royal Family; piping for a NATO conference in Milan, Basel Tattoo; and Berlin Tattoo.

More recently, Jordan has been piping across Europe in the Flowers of War concert series, which commemorates ANZAC involvement in World War One. As part of this, he has had the privilege of appearing as a soloist alongside the first ever combined French, British and German orchestras. Click below to listen:
Jordan is also a prolific composer, with two collections of original music composed for the pipes published in his name already. He is a founding member of Newcastle folk sextet Pons Aelius, and contributed many of his tunes to their critically acclaimed debut album.
Jordan can be hired individually (as a solo piper), or as part of the ceilidh band package. Typical services include: piping down the aisle, piping in the haggis, piping in event delegates, funeral piping, surprise piping and pipegrams - but whatever you have in mind, let us know, and we will endeavour to tailor our services to make your event unforgettable. We welcome specific tune requests, so be sure to mention anything you would like played when you make your booking.
